Why Some Books Are Only on Kindle Unlimited

If you’ve ever searched for a book and found it only on Amazon, it’s probably because the author has enrolled it in Kindle Unlimited (KU). To be part of KU, authors agree to make the ebook exclusive to Amazon for as long as it’s in the program. That means the ebook can’t be sold through other retailers like Apple Books, Kobo, or Google Play.
This exclusivity lets KU readers borrow the book for free as part of their subscription — but it also means readers who don’t use Amazon won’t be able to get it elsewhere.
I choose to keep my books in KU because it helps more romance readers discover my work — KU offers great visibility for indie authors, and romance readers tend to devour books quickly, making the subscription a perfect fit for their reading habits.
